How Much Does It Cost to Rent a Pickleball Court for an Event?

Renting a full-size portable pickleball court from PortaCourts starts at $1,300 for one day. That covers one Standard court ($850), a Leisure net ($200) and local delivery ($250), with you doing the setup. Bigger courts, longer events, more courts and our crew all change the total. Here is every line on a rental quote, what it costs, and what a few typical events add up to.

Court rental rates

Rates are per court, per day. The daily rate drops the longer you keep the court, because delivery and setup cost the same whether it stays for one day or seven. Every size has the same regulation 20 × 44 ft playing area. The bigger courts add room around the lines.

Rental rates per court, per day

CourtSize1 day2 to 3 days4 to 7 days
Standard21 × 45 ft$850$700$500
Expanded24 × 50 ft$1,000$850$600
Premier30 × 60 ft$1,200$1,000$750

Rentals longer than 7 days are quoted for your event. See rental pricing for the current rates.

The Standard court suits most events, since it keeps the full playing area with the smallest footprint. The Expanded court gives players room to chase a wide ball. The Premier is the one for tournaments and competitive play, where players expect space behind the baseline.

Multi-court discounts

  • 3 to 4 courts: 10% off the court rental total
  • 5 or more courts: 15% off the court rental total

The discount comes off the courts only, not nets, gear or delivery.

Nets, paddles and balls

Each court needs a net, and you pick one per court. Nets are rented and go back after the event. Paddles and balls are optional, and they are yours to keep.

If your guests are bringing their own paddles, skip them. If most people have never played, plan on enough paddles for everyone on court at once, which is 4 per court for doubles.

Delivery

Delivery depends on how far the event is from our warehouse in Eagle, Idaho. Local and regional delivery includes drop-off and pickup.

  • Local, within 30 miles of Eagle: $250 flat
  • Regional, 30 to 150 miles: $1.50 per mile, round trip
  • Long distance, over 150 miles: freight is quoted with your event

We rent courts for events anywhere in the US. Book at least 2 weeks ahead for local events and 4 weeks ahead for long-distance ones. Delivery dates and windows are confirmed at booking.

Setup: do it yourself or have our crew do it

Self-setup is included with every rental, along with the setup guide, the instructional video and support by phone or text. Two people can roll out a Standard court, tape the seams and stand up the net in about 30 minutes (about 45 for the Premier), with no power tools. Our step-by-step setup guide walks through it.

If you would rather not, our crew sets up and takes down for $500 per court plus travel. Within 150 miles, travel is charged at the delivery rate, and beyond that it is quoted.

Deposits

  • 50% of the rental total reserves your date
  • A refundable damage deposit of $1,000 per court is due at booking, and returned when the court comes back in good condition

What's included with every rental

  • The court surface in your chosen size, in Court Green, Court Blue or Court Grey
  • Installation tape
  • The setup guide and instructional video
  • Self-setup support by phone or text

Custom colors are for purchased courts only, not rentals.

What typical events cost

Check your space before you book

A portable court needs a clean, firm, flat, hard surface: a parking lot, school blacktop, an existing sport court, a gym floor or a warehouse floor. Gravel, grass and dirt do not work. You also need at least 3 ft of clear space past every edge of the court, so plan on an open area of 27 × 51 ft for a Standard court, 30 × 56 ft for an Expanded court and 36 × 66 ft for a Premier.

Renting vs buying

Renting makes sense for one event, or a few. If you will run events often, the numbers shift quickly. A Standard court costs $7,680 to buy, so about six one-day local rentals cost as much as owning one. Our guide to what a portable pickleball court costs covers purchase prices, delivery by state and discounts, and you can compare sizes on the portable pickleball courts page.
